Well for some reason, fights are becoming commonplace on Kaerwyn. And potions are being ordered from Fyre and taken from the tavern at an astounding rate. Jakkal and Griff are working overtime to restock the potions, since they don't really come from the tavern like everything else you order.

Unfortunately in the rush, some of the potions were tainted and have unwanted side effects. All potions still heal as they always have.

Side effects only last for 1 hour unless otherwise stated.

So from now on, when a character takes a potion, they must type !potion in the OOC. Fyre will then randomly display a side effect and you must play it out. Please don't keep typing !potion to see what's there. I want it to be a surprise for the most part, and there's LOTS of possibilities.

Example:
<Jakkal> !potion
<Fyrewolf> You're really dizzy.

Addendum: Some of the 'outcomes' won't apply to some characters. So if you get one of these non-applicable outcomes, roll again. Example: If Fyre said your character is now blind, but your character already /is/ blind, then you'd need to roll again.

Addendum: Do to abuse of the potions in the tavern, we need to make some things clear. #1. Potions are not life saving devices. They cannot do extensive damage repairs that would require surgery or any other complicated medically assisted act. #2. Potions only advance your character's normal healing for a limited amount of time. They do not give players the ability to regenerate or immortality.

IE, if you take a fatal hit and use a potion, it won't do you much good.

Out of curiosity, what happens to these potions each time the tavern burns down, and if they don't come back with the tavern, how long does it take them to be restocked so that players can request them again?

Also, if objects brought to the tavern disapear there as normal, then why do the potions under the counter remain there?

why the need to ask? it's a pretty pointless question if you ask me.

Well, the point of the first question is that I'd like to be sure the potions are there to be used so that I don't blunder into giving someone a potion that isn't there any more due to the fires.

As for the second question, it helps me understand more about the nature of kaerwyn so that I will goof up less in general.

okay, to answer the question, Fyre quite possibly keeps a few stocked, and the fact that the tavern rebuilds itself afterwards..

it kinda answers itself, dunnit?

Times for the potion durations are up to an hour, by the way.

We've decided, since people haven't abused the potions in a long time, to lighten up the consequences of using them.

I haven't had time to edit the potion list yet, but if you get one of the fatal /harmful potion effects, re-roll.

Potion duration will only last 30 minutes now.

I will post when I get a chance to edit, change and remote the fatal/harmful potion effects.
