For note: This rule overrules restrictions on various character types (Such as Werewolves, Military types, Doctors, etc).
We are no longer restricting character types, such as those mentioned above. I felt it was unfair that we were punishing everyone for what others have done (admitted though, it has been a significant problem in the past with several characters and players over the years).
Instead, we're going to try this new rule out. Character Consistancy. This of course, goes beyond the restricted characters, and it will cover all characters from this point forward.
What you need to know: The short short version is this, If your character in play is significantly different from what is listed in the CS, we will remove the character from play and remove the CS. Period.
The explanation: We started the character restrictions (Such as Werewolves, Military, etc) because far too often the player was not being consistant with the information as given in a CS, or they were unable to play the character as it should have been based on the CS, (History, Knowledge, Age, Education, etc etc). Of course, inconsistancy in the CS has been a longwithstanding problem, but most of these problems came from the restricted character types. For example, we had many werecreatures who shouldn't have been able to control their shifting, or their minds when shifted (According to CS info), yet they did control it, seemingly with easy. Another example: We've had plenty of characters with military training in their histories, and yet these characters rarely act, if ever, like officers, or even if they've had officer's training.
From now on, characters who are significantly different from the information in the CS will simply be removed. For new CS's, we will give you a grace period, because we understand that sometimes characters turn out different in play from what was intended in the CS. You'll have a few weeks to whip them, and the CS into shape so the Character in Play matches the Character in the CS. Any changes to a CS is still pending approval mind you.
Old characters: They are NOT grandfathered in. So you have two options, you either change the CS now to better reflect your characters in play, or you radically change the way you play to match what is listed in the CS.
And remember that all CS changes pend oply approval for these characters as well.
If you have any questions, post a reply.
