I've been thinking lately that Kaerwyn's RP seems to be getting a little stagnant and people are afraid to suggest storyline and such because they might not work well with Kaerwyn's setting. Well, naturally I'd want to remedy this, as I myself am having a diffcult time coming up with interesting and fun storylines for you guys to participate in.
Well, now I'm considering letting characters go offworld temporarly for your own storylines and campaigns. Naturally, there will be rules and strict guidelines for this. Rules would include things like approval of storylines, approval of abilities or items that come back with characters, no character goes alone, muns must be approved by ops before they can go on the campaign, etc. This is just the same old same old, you ask us, we approve, you go off and do it on your own.
I'm thinking one of two 'setting elements' to explain this as far as Kaerwyn's consistancy goes. I'm thinking either an ancient device (like the StarGate) is found that allows characters to come and go assuming "fate" allows it. The other idea is that a dragon starts a "vacation" travel agent kinda business in town and opens rifts to and from other worlds for characters.
Either way, certain rules would have to be upheld, for example, 'vacations' off kaerwyn could only last for a certain amount of time. If the character doesn't come back to the exact spot and time of the rift event, then they will get left behind, and that's permanent (Good way to get rid of a character). I also worry about muns who will want to have a character go off world and return with a shitload of powerful weapons, items, or abilities.
Please tell me what you guys think of this idea. If enough people are interested, I will discuss the situation with the ops so we can make fair rules that protect the integrity of the RP and the setting.
