Well sorcerynet has been one of the better networks we've had for the Kaerwyn RP, but it's time for us to move on. Pending some diliberations with the users of the network, we'll likely be switching servers this next week.

Fear not, I will let you all know when we're switching, and how to get there. I'll also be redirecting the javachats to point to the other network.

Just some notes. The network we're switching to is very small, it has a very small userbase with only a few channels on it. If you're wondering why we're switching, well Bow and I own two of the three servers on the network. As such, we have much more control over what goes on as far as technical problems and administration is concerned. That being said, we think it'll be better for Kaerwyn users given the spambots and netsplits that sorcery keeps getting nailed with. In addition to that, they've made it difficult for me to find a reliable server host for Fyre. So now that she'll be on our servers, it won't be an issue at all.

The network was originally created for therians, so there will be some therian only discussion channels. #crossroads is the main channel, and if you act like an idiot in there or RP you're going to get kicked. So you can go in there and talk with the other people on the network but don't be too silly about it.

If you have any questions or concerns, post 'em.

FYI, we'll be switching networks on December 1st. Whenever we finally do so, I'll put a note in the Sorcerynet Kaerwyn channels so you all know.

The new servers are:
irc.shifters.org 6667, 7000
irc.therian.net 6667
irc.wayah.net 6661-6669

The channel names will remain the same.

As some know, Atal and myself use the same internet connection. A wifi access point through a router and soforth. Anyways, we had a brief incident and chat with Sorcery about our connections. (We used three connections each so altogether at most it looks like six connections from one location.

This was done for clarity of the logs and in part the channels too. Would this present a problem? We of course can be reached in the channel if the need to discuss further, being frequents to the place.

Did they think you guys were clones?

Yes, during the first couple of weeks of this connection usage, we were being given global notices 'Stop cloning' and the like. Even had a talk with one of the IRCops.

We eventually went to kechara and after explaining our situation, we've sorted it out, special setting on the server I believe the person said. I've logs of both events in archive. We've talked of it also in the first weeks of Kaerwyn too...

But to reiterate, yes that is how it's percieved but that's what the server will always say because to it we're many connections from one address.

I think we do have connection limits on our network, I'm not precisely sure if we do or not. I think I set it really high because we do some RPing on the side on this network as well. If you guys have a problem with it, just let me know and I'll add you to the exception list.
